CIRR.COM Fun Things Central Iowa Railroad Club of Des Moines, Iowa

On my last visit to the Iowa State Fair, in 1992, the layout was a very fine sight to see, located in a separate building on the east side of the State Fair grounds in Des Moines. The folks of the Central Iowa (Model) Railroad recommend a visit!

The Club is open every Tuesday night from about 19:00 (7:00 pm) to 22:00 (10:00pm) Central Time. It is also open most Saturday afternoons (for work time.) The first Tuesday of the month is the business meeting. Second and last Tuesdays are operating sessions. The Third Tuesday is a work session.

The Central Iowa Railroad and the Central Iowa Railway have no affiliation, other than sharing a common name.

The Central Iowa (Model) Railroad is located (currently) in the greater Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex of Texas. One day, it may finally get back home to Iowa, but when that might be is still a mystery. (hey, if the Burlington Northern Santa Fe can be based in Ft Worth, why can't the Central Iowa be based in Dallas?)
