The Central Iowa (Model) Railroad provides a number of enjoyable activities for its owners and operators.. As the name suggests, it is a model railroad, both indoors and out, in large scale and small.

Model Railroading provides many hours of enjoyment to the thousands of people participating in the hobby. Building models is but a small part of the hobby. There is historical research, historical modeling, realistic train operations and many other aspects of the hobby.
